Obituary of John Alexander
GREEN - John Alexander, 77, passed away quietly Thursday July 22, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 20, 1933 to George and Kato (Gomboc) Alexander in Skopje, Macedonia. He came to the United States in 1957 and to Green in 1978. By profession a draftsman, he was Vice President of Engineering for Ornamental Iron. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Clara (Konya); children Agi Alexander of Dayton, Gabriel (Pamala) Alexander of Cranberry Twsp., Pa., Renee Alexander of Green and Dawn (Brian) Vercuski of Hartville; grandchildren Nicole Vercuski, Sarah Alexander, Johnathan Vercuski and April Alexander; brother Fred Alexander; step brothers and sisters George Dukovic, Traudil (Pete) Schmidt and Ingrid Lamb; cousin Irma Porkorny; many nieces, nephews, other cousins and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother Edith Alexander and sister-in-law Krista Alexander.
A Memorial service will be held 3:00 Pm SUNDAY August 1, 2010 at the Anthony and Biscan Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Rd. in Green (on the roundabout at Steese Rd.) where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Donations may be made to Queen of Heaven Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
