Obituary of Glennice P. Meckley

Glennice P. Meckley, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, went home to be with the Lord, after passing away unexpectedly on July 16, at Akron City Hospital. Born in Akron on April 9, 1946 to Elwood and Joyce Stout, Glennice had been a lifetime area resident. She was a 1964 graduate of Garfield High School, had worked as a sales manager for the Woolworth Co. in both Akron and Barberton, and was a faithful member of the Brown Street Church of Christ. Glennice lived life with gusto! She was a good listener who loved her grandkids and was always there to help others in their time of need. Glennice was an avid and accomplished quilter and was a member of a group called, 'the quilt sitters circle'. She loved helping all of her special friends at her favorite quilting store, A Piece in Time. Glennice was also an excellent cook and she loved collecting Longaberger Baskets. Glennice was preceded in death by her husband Boyd; father Elwood and son Steven. She is survived by her mother Joyce; son and daughter-in-law Aaron and Missy Meckley and daughter Charlotte DeShais, all of Akron; sisters Wilene (Jerry) Cordi of Suffield and Jacqueline Scott of Marietta and brother William Stout of Rittman. Glennice is also survived by her grandchildren, who she loved and cherished deeply, Anthony and Christopher Meckley. Even though you are gone, you will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-9 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron.
