Obituary of Viola Evelyn Donelan

Born in Akron on September 14, 1911 to the late Nelson and Mary Cox, Viola had been a lifetime area resident. She was a member of the recently closed St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Akron and a member of St. Francis DeSales Parish, Akron.

She loved her family very much. Her great- grandchildren lovingly called her "G.G." for great-grandma, because she told them they made her "great".
In addition to her parents; Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and her son, Jerry; sister, Thelma and brother-in-law, Walt Deitle. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Christl Donelan of Akron; grandchildren, Eric (Susan) of Chicago, Brian (Beth) of Massillon, and Stephen (Renee) Donelan of State College, Pa.; great grandchildren, Michael, Abby, Hannah, Grace, Bradley, and Michelle Donelan; nephew, Richard (Marilyn) Deitle and very special niece, Mary Greer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father David Bline on April 29, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. A private inurnment of ashes will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery following the ceremony. Donations in Viola's memory may be made to St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319.
