Obituary of Hedwig Rita Popp

Hedwig R. Popp, 91, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2010 at Akron General Medical Center. Hedwig was born September 1, 1918 to Frank and Mary (Olscewski) Mileski in Akron. She was employed by Goodyear Aerospace as an executive secretary for over 30 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and a member of the recently closed St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Polish American Club, the PNA and the PRCUA. Hedwig was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1994 and is survived by her sons, John (Dee) Popp of Kerrville, Texas, Thomas (Kathryn) Popp of Rocky River and Rick (Deborah) Popp of Medlothian, Va.; siblings, Jane Gracen, Phyllis (John) Sellars and Art (Rosemary) Mileski; grandchildren, Marc (Jana), Megan, Tommy, Nicholas, Madalyn, Eric and Jason Popp, Gina Graf and Jay Judice; great-grandchildren, Marcus and Madison Popp, Kailtin and Alexander Berry and Hannah and Emily Popp and Justin Corbin. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in COPLEY, with Rev. Fr. James Kramer officiating. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends TODAY, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. (please note new address).
