Arthur Paul Dohner
Arthur P. Dohner, a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the age of 88.
He was born on September 23, 1921, to the late Forest W. and Clara Dohner in Akron, Ohio. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II with the 338th Engineer Regiment, a licensed realtor since 1941, the principal broker of Central Associated Real Estate and a member of the Akron Area Board of Realtors where he was the first to earn the distinguished honor of Realtor Emeritus.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine (Binns) of 66 years; and siblings, Forest E. (Bud) Dohner, Esther Lance and Arlene Croft. He will be deeply missed by his sons, Larry of Fairlawn and Greg (Carol) of Hudson; grandchildren, Danielle (Jarrod) Mink, Christopher, Scott and Mark Dohner; great-granddaughter, Madelyn; sister, Georgianna Berkshire; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Friday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Family Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by military services at Holy Cross Cemetery. (Anthony Funeral Homes, 330.724.1281, www.anthonyfh.com)
