Obituary of Elaine Schalamon

Elaine K. Schalamon, 80, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010. She was born in Akron and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Mrs. Schalamon had been employed by the City of Akron Department of Planning and Urban Renewal and was also a member of the German Family Society. Special thank you to Manor Care of Belden Village and Heartland Hospice for their care and support. She was preceded in death by parents, Steve and Anna Buzaki; daughter, Renee; and brother, Steve. She is survived by her husband, George; daughter, Tisha (Ty Cogswell) Shumway; sister, Rosemary (James) Weaver; and grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda Shumway. The family will receive friends Monday, 2 to 4 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Interment will be held at a later date.
