Obituary of Joshua Michael Sestokas

The stars in the sky are shining brighter and the angels in heaven are singing more sweetly now that Joshua has joined them. On Monday June 7, 2010, Joshua Sestokas joined all of the other angels in heaven and passed on to his eternal reward. Joshua was a pillar of strength, courage, and wisdom as he bravely faced his muscular dystrophy with hope and optimism. His life was filled with love, laughter, and smiles, as well as wonderful memories of trips in the motor home with his loving Nana and Papa, and many shopping excursions with the two people he adored the most, his mother and sister. Preceded in death by his Nana, Connie McDonald, Joshua leaves behind his mother, Patricia Sestokas-McDonald and his sister Victoria; Papa Stanley McDonald; great-grandmother Winifred Wilson; 'great' aunts Rose Young, Mary Frye, Joyce Mondello, and Beverly Mondello; uncles John (Mary Jean), Kenneth, and Michael McDonald and his father, Richard Sestokas, as well as many other family members and friends. The family wishes to thank with sincere gratitude the Palliative Care Team and the home care nurses at Akron's Children's Hospital, the Western Reserve Hospice, and all of the doctors and nurses who took time to make Joshua's life one of great quality. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. David Halaiko on Friday at 10:00 am at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church at Killian and Myersville Rd.'s in Springfield Twp. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Joshua's memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association 1655 W. Market St. Akron, OH 44313. ANTHONY FUNERAL HOMES 330.724.1281 anthonyfh.com
