Obituary of Matyas G. Krim
Matyas G. Krim, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Hungary on December 18, 1934 to the late Matyas and Iren Krim, Matyas had been a longtime area resident. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills, retiring in 1997 with 29 years of service. Matyas served in the Hungarian and Italian Armies, as well as the U.S. Army for five years. He was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed gardening and canning peppers.
In addition to his parents, Matyas was preceded in death by his wife, Magdaline. He is survived by his children, Alex (Jackie) Krim of Tallmadge, Anna (Mike) Iverson of Mogadore, Tony (Gina) Krim of Akron, and Albert Krim of Cleveland; stepson, Bob (Josie) Gregory; best friend, Laci Smeltzer; grandchildren, Candice, Alexandra, and Cameron Krim, Celina (Eric) Jensen, Peri (Jason) Jurey, Casey Knepp, and Anthony and Jacqueline Krim; great-grandchildren, Riley and Evan Jensen; sisters, Irene and Gabriella of Hungary.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Cemetery.
