Betty A. Hinton
Born February 19, 1921 in East Cleveland, Ohio, Betty graduated from Shaw High School, East Cleveland, in 1939, and Dyke School of Commerce. Betty worked for Penton Publishing Company of Cleveland for ten years.
Betty married Richard M. Hinton on May 17, 1944, and moved to Akron. Betty tirelessly volunteered at church, sang in the choir, and organized monthly birthday cakes for the children of the Akron Children's Home.
Betty and Dick were PGA Golf volunteers for the American Golf Classic at the the Firestone Country Club for fifteen years. Betty loved to volunteer her time and talents, garden, read, bake, play golf and bridge, tell stories and jokes. Betty was loved for her generous hospitality, delicious dinners and wonderful bridge club.
Betty was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Ruth Angel; husband, Richard Hinton; nephew, Steve Angel; and sister-in-law, Sally Angel. Betty will be deeply missed by her loving friends and family: brother, John Angel; nephew, Nicholas Angel and his wife Victoria; and great-niece and nephew, Nicole and Spencer Angel; niece and husband, Laura and Randall Williams great-nephews and niece, Ross, Scott and Megan Williams.
Betty, was a cherished, kind, grace filled woman and friend, that went home to be with her Lord, May, 5, 2010.
Betty's life will be celebrated at the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls (Disciples of Christ), 2253 Third Street, on Monday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls.
