Mary Strausser
Mary Strausser, 96, went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2010 after eight days at the Green View Inn in Uniontown.
Born in Akron on April 6, 1914 to the late Joseph and Mary Valant, Mary had been a lifetime Kenmore resident, before moving to Pebble Creek Assisted Living in 2008. She was a member of the National Slovene Benefit Society for over 80 years.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1971, sister Josephine Dague, and brother Joseph Valant. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Gerald and Beverly Strausser of Arlington, TX and grandson Kelly (Melissa) Strausser of Mansfield, Texas; sister-in-law Anne Toth Valant of Arlington, Texas; nephew and caretakers Lawrence (Jennifer) Dague of Hartville; great-nephew Robert (Kristen) Dague of Uniontown and great-niece Cathy (Mike) Barry of Phoenix, Arizona; great-great-nephews Dylan and Ryan Dague.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will take place immediately following. Internment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Cemetary.
