Obituary of Ethelreda Borden

ETHELREDA M. BORDEN Ethelreda M. Borden, 93, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010. She was born in Howard, South Dakota on July 4, 1916 and lived in Akron most of her life, graduating from East High School. Ethelreda dedicated herself to being a wonderful homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by parents, Bradford H. and Magdalena C. (Schueller) Nelson; Having lived to such a blessed old age, she was also preceded in death by many other loved ones: first husband, Martin H. Borden; second husband, her brother-in-law Earl G. Borden whom she married at the age of 78; daughter, Kaye M. Owen; and sisters, Margaret M. Wade, Dorathy E. McAleese and Marcella A. O'Brien. She is survived by son, Leonard M. Borden; daughters, Barbara L. (Joseph) Faris, Eileen T. Borden and Gloria J. (Charles) Beal; step-son/nephew, Joseph G. (Sandy) Borden; step-daughter/niece, Mary (Terry) Porter; brother, Leon F. (Pat) Nelson; dear son-in-law, Frederick Owen, Sr.; sister-in-law, Mary Borden; fourteen grandchildren; and sixteen loving great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron and at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
