Obituary of James Leslie Hawley
CUYAHOGA FALLS - James L. Hawley, 61, formerly of Shreve, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, April 30, 2010.
He was born in Lodi, Ohio and attended Rock of Ages Community Church. James was a veteran of the United States Airforce serving during the Vietnam Era.
He was preceded in death by father, Arthur Vance Hawley; and brothers, Arthur Vale and Melvin Dale Hawley. He is survived by his mother, Hattie (Bennett) Hawley; son, James Arthur Hawley; daughters, Valerie and Sharon Hawley and Amy (Daniel) Wristen ; brothers, Harold (Maryann) and Virgil T. Hawley; sisters, Juanita Taylor, Della June (Wayne) Strong and Virginia (Larry) Cross; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; and friend of 26 years, Bonnie Dykes and her Family including her grandchildren and especially Kiley Ann for whom he had a special place in his heart.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) in Cuyahoga Falls. Rev. Bernadine Warner officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
