Obituary of Katherine J. Parker

Katherine J. Parker, 91, died Friday, April 30, 2010 at Wyant Woods Care Center in Fairlawn. She was born in Akron and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was a secretary for Akron Brick & Block for 40 years retiring in 1996. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. She was past president of the St. Sebastian Flower Club and was an avid bowler. She was preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Katie Matunich; husband, Charles E.; and brother, George. She is survived by son, Richard (Mary); daughters, Sandra Sear and Suzan Koly; sisters, Helen (Dave) Moncrief, Dorothy Shaffer and Frances Martin; grandchildren, Genevieve, Vanessa, Abigail, Danielle, Thomas, Ericka, Melissa, Michelle, Jessica and Laura Beth; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Tommy, Ethan, Elliott, Kaeden, Jonah, Riley and Patrick. Services will be private for the family. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. There are no calling hours. If so desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
