Obituary of Charles C. Coe

Charles C. Coe, 86, went home to the open and loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. He was born in Byrdstown, Tennessee and was retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He was a devoted member of the Chapel on Fir Hill for over 50 years. Mr. Coe was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving in the Military Police during World War II. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His hobbies included hiking, gardening (bean picking), playing cards, shooting pool and whittling. Special thank you to the loving staff at Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living and Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Emma Lou (Elder) Coe; and his wife, Esther (Mitchell) Coe. He is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Susan Coe; loving and grateful grandchildren, Michael Coe (Renee Petty, the Love of Michael's life) and Jennifer Coe-Szaraz and her husband Brandon; brothers, Henry and Bill (Peggy) Coe; sisters, Joyce (Richard) Huddleston, Janice (James) Eaton and Kay (Randall) Dyer; dear friends, Louise Hooper and Jim and Cindy Stollar; and favorite pet, Lady Puppy "Brownie". Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Anthony & Biscan Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. (at the roundabout at Steese and Massillon Rd.) Pastor Mike Castelli officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park where the Kenmore American Legion Post 449 will also conduct military burial rites. The family will receive friends Friday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m at the funeral home. Donations may be made Hospice of Barberton or the Deacon's Fund at the Chapel.
