Obituary of Dorothy E. Fenn
Dorothy Elizabeth Fenn
Born, October 14, 1921 to Calvin and Eva Wolfe in Akron, OH. She lived in Akron, Tallmadge and finally her permanent residence in Cuyahoga Falls.
She started her working career at the M. Oneil Company. After getting married to Delbert, she stayed at home to raise her 5 children. During that time she worked from the Keegan Purcell Dance Studio. Dorothy also worked for the Cuyahoga Falls Civil Service and retire from the Alling and Cory Paper Company.
Besides raising her children, she had many other accomplishments. Dorothy was a great seamstress making costumes and designing clothes for her children. She spent many hours sewing costumes up until the last minute, and then she would become the number one Stage Mom. Her passion for sewing was evident in all the quilts she made for her children and grandchildren.
Dorothy was a long time supporter of Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, The Weathervane Theater and The Special Olympics.
Preceded in death by her son, Davey, sister Juanita Sullenger. She leaves behind her children; Deniene (Jimmy)Anderson of NY, Dale (Elaine) Fenn of Cincinnati, Dawn (Mark) Pozuc of Tallmadge, Della (Dr. Phillip) Michalos of Bath, and Diedre (Peter) McHugh of Cuyahoga Falls. Her beloved grandchildren, Brian and Tracey Fenn; Elizabeth, Christina and George Michalos and Katie and Tom Pozuc. Also, special niece Barb Tate.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the Rite Aid Pharmacy (Bailey Road), Visiting Nurse Hospice at Ridgewood, and "The Girls" Ashly and Delcie, for their love and support.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 3-7 pm, at the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home, at 3rd Street, one block north of Portage Trail. Interment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Hospice, 3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, OH 44333, or a charity of their choice.
