Obituary of Robert H. Heim
Robert H. Heim, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday evening, March 8, at Akron City Hospital.
Born on July 23, 1928 in Akron, Bob had been a lifetime area resident. He worked in construction his entire life and was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Kenmore Construction Co., retiring in 1990 with over 33 years of service. He loved retirement and took many vacations with Theresa, his wife of nearly 60 years. Reading and target shooting were his favorite hobbies along with riding his Honda 90. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenmore, where he was a member of the Men's Club. Bob was very active as a volunteer at both Immaculate Conception Church and the Interval Brotherhood Home.
Bob was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy, Grace, and Joann and step-brothers Lloyd and Marvin. In addition to his loving wife, Theresa, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law MSgt. Robert Jr. and Tracey of Ramstein Air Base, Germany and Jack and Michele of Canal Fulton; daughters and sons-in-law Marie and Mike Brehob and Joyce and Larry Eggert, all of Akron; grandchildren Christopher, Bartholomew (Lori), and Kelly Eggert and John and Matthew Heim; step-sister Geraldine.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Michael B. Smith on Saturday at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenmore. Interment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery, where the Firestone Park VFW Post 3383 will conduct military honors.
