-CUYAHOGA FALLS
Russel A. Foti, 93, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, at
Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls.
Born on December 9, 1916 to the late Carl Foti and Mae Schwagler, Russ
had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident his entire life. He was a graduate
of Cuyahoga Falls High School and retired as a tow motor operator from
Falls Stamping and Welding. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of
Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Russ was a member of the
Cuyahoga Falls Italian-American Club as well as the Sons of Italy Akron
Lodge 685. For many years Russ volunteered as an attendant at Cuyahoga
Falls High School football and basketball games. He was an avid bowler
and until very recently, still bowled in leagues at Stonehedge. Russ
was an incredible gardener who loved to share his vegetables with
others. He also loved to feed and watch the birds and was an avid
fisherman.
In addition to his parents, Russel was preceded in death by his wife
of 67 years, Jennie, in 2007, brother and sister-in-law Frank and Ann
Foti, and special nephew Danny Joe Mallardi. He is survived by his
nieces Frances Mallardi and Angela Devore; nephew Frank Foti and
sister-in-law Sadie Domenico, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and
great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Altercare
of Cuyahoga Falls, for the wonderful care given to Russ during his time
there.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 pm at the Anthony
Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL (at 3rd st., one block north
of Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls). A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated by Rev. Thomas McCann on Monday, at 10:00 am, at Immaculate
Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. PROCESSION TO FORM AT
CHURCH. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga
Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations in Russel's memory may be made to
the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 1905 Portage Trail Cuyahoga
Falls, OH 44223.
