Obituary of Warren Paul Salchak
Warren Paul Salchak, 64, went home to his Lord and Savior Friday, November 20,
2009 after a year long battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his
family.
He was born July 21, 1945 to the late Milan and Anna (Baucher)
Salchak in Akron and had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident for many years.
Warren retired after 34 years from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in 2002.
He was a member of Tallmadge Lutheran Church, Summit Lapidary Club and Akron
Mineral Society.
Warren's life revolved around his faith and his family. He enjoyed
his friends, loved good food and had a great sense of humor. These made
his whole life worth living and even helped him face his final illness with
grace and confidence. One high point in the past year, Warren and his family were able to ride on the Goodyear blimp.
Warren is survived by his wife 44 years, Barbara; children Tina
(Curtis) Thomas and Bryan Salchak both of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren
Ashley (Daniel) Haywood, Shelby Salchak and Julia Thomas; great
grandchildren Lucas and Nolan Haywood; brother Milan (Patti) Salchak. He will be missed by many co-workers, extended family and friends.
The family is grateful to the doctors and staff at University
Hospitals.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11;00 Am at Tallmadge
Lutheran Church, 759 East Ave., Tallmadge, OH 44278. Rev. Dr. David R.
Zachrich officiating. Private interment will be held at Northlawn Memorial
Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday 4 to 8 Pm at the Anthony
Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. (Please note new
