Obituary of Veronica Theresa Zehner

-GREEN Veronica Theresa Zehner, 89, went home to be with the Lord on September 11 at the Greenview Inn in Green. Born in Akron, OH on February 3, 1920 to the late Frank and Edith Myers, Veronica had lived most of her life in the Akron area, as well as 27 years as a resident of Florida . She was a founding member of both St. Francis DeSales and the Nativity of our Lord Catholic Churches, where Veronica was currently a parishioner. She was also a member of the Archbishop Hoban High School Mother's Club, as well as the Ladies Guild at St. Francis DeSales . In addition to her parents, Veronica was preceded in death by her husbands Elvin Zehner, Paul McGuire, and Jim McGuire and her brother Frank Meyers. She is survived by her children Robert (Eileen), Kathleen (Terry) Arfons, Mary Jane (Kenneth) Thomas of Bradenton, FL, Eileen (Nicholas) Miller, Paul (Debbi), Jeannine (Craig) Westbrook of Brandon, FL, and David (Kathy); sister Mary Zehner; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Greenview Inn, Crossroads Hospice, Altercare of Hartville, and special caregivers Betty, Jan, Margie, and Kristy for the compassionate care that was given to Veronica. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Anthony & Biscan Funeral Home (at corner of Steese Rd & Rte. 241 in Green). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 am at the Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church (at the corner of Killian & Myersville Rds. in Springfield Twp.), where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Fr David Halaiko celebrant. Interment will take place at East Liberty Cemetery in Green.
