Obituary of Fred Bernard Kmetz

Fred B. Kmetz Fred B. Kmetz, 92, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at his home with his beloved wife Anna at his side. He was born May 30, 1919 to Michael and Martha (Fetsko) Kmetz in York Run, PA and had been an Akron resident since 1947. He was employed by Akron Public Schools in repair and maintenance retiring in 1982. Fred was a member of St. John the Baptist and St. Paul Catholic Churches and the Jednota Club 553. He was a veteran of the Army during WWII and had spent 38 month in the European Theatre. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by 12 brothers and 1 sister; and is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Anna (Pulig) Kmetz, nieces Carol Leigh, Rita Labbe, Rosemary (Daniel) Barta and other wonderful nieces and nephews. Our family is grateful to the staff of Hospice of Summa for their tender care of our husband and uncle. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:40 AM at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. followed at 11:00 AM by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery.
