Obituary of Benjamin Gee
-CUYAHOGA FALLS
Benjamin Gee Sr., 82, died peacefully with family by his side, on September 8, 15 years to the day that his beloved wife Rose went to Heaven.
Born in Geneva, NY on May 28, 1930 to the late Ben & Jennie Gee, Benjamin was raised in the Finger Lakes region of New York, before moving to Cuyahoga Falls in 1971. For over 45 years he was employed as a truck driver for various companies including Specter & Consolidated Freightways and was a member of the retired Teamsters. Mr. Gee served his country as a member of the US Navy, the National Guard, and as a Civil Defense Officer for the State of New York. He was a member of several gun clubs and enjoyed gardening & bowling.
In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosemary (Fonseca); brothers Donald, Truman, and Kenneth and sisters Verna, Annelita, & Beatrice. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Gary & Mary Bonvillian of Thomasville, GA, Benjamin R. & Valara Gee Jr. of Westerville, OH, David & Karen Gee of Mogadore, and John & Pam Gee of Akron; grandchildren Ryan (Tara) Bonvillian & Kyle, John, Daniel, & Matthew Gee; great-grandsons Charles and Daniel Bonvillian.
The family would like to offer their thanks to all of the caregivers at both Rockynol & the Ledges at Rockynol, for the kind and compassionate care that was given to Ben during his time there.
The family will receive friends TODAY from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls). A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home. Pastor Brian Nutt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Akron Visiting Nurse Service 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH 44333. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
