Obituary of Steven Ronald Yaworsky

GREEN - Ronald Steven (Ronny) Yaworsky, 46, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2012, with his adoring wife and son by his side, after a courageous, year-long battle with cancer. Ronny was born in Akron and lived most of his life in Green. He was a member of St. Paul's, Annunciation, and Queen of Heaven Catholic churches. As a child, he enjoyed swimming and water skiing, go-karts and mini-bikes, and his various exotic pets, including wolves, ferrets, and hermit crabs, along with baby ducks, a few cats, and many dogs. He attended Green schools from the fourth grade on, and graduated from Portage Lakes JVS, after learning the beginnings of his mastery of welding. He spent many years at B&J Welding, where he developed his strong work ethic and learned more of his metal fabricating skills. During this time, Ronny met his best friend, Denise. He soon realized they were more than friends and that he had met his soul mate. They dated for 4 years and were married in 1990. Ronny opened his own business, specializing in custom drag racing frames, roll bars, and aluminum work ("tubbing" cars). He was well known for his expert work and some said, "He can weld anything". In his 20's, he owned a 1969 Mach I Mustang that he and Denise, along with other family and friends, enjoyed drag racing at Dragway 42, Quaker City, and Norwalk. He also worked briefly on the side at City Scrap and Richard's Fence in Akron. When his first and only child was on the way, he quit working entirely to stay home and raise his son, Dane, who is fond of saying "My dad pre-schooled me!". Ronny was naturally charming and made friends wherever he went. Most recently, he was a beloved regular at Thomas' Drive Thru, Giant Eagle, and Get-go in Green. He was a very caring person and would go out of his way to help those in need, whether part of his family, or complete strangers. Some did not know how considerate, thoughtful, and soft-hearted he was. He had a special ability to choose just the right gift for someone. He also had a mischievous sense of humor and enjoyed teasing loved ones and playing pranks on them. Ronny's great joy and pride in his life came from his wife and his son (now 10 yrs. old). After 12 years of a wonderfully happy marriage, when Dane was born, he said "Why did we wait so long?". He was an exceptional husband, and Ronny and Denise had a very special marriage bond that is seldom seen; one that will endure beyond death. Along with their earlier hobby of drag racing, they also enjoyed horses and horse racing, (being the proud owners of an Arabian stallion at one point), gardening, and just being together. Since they were best friends, when apart, they couldn't wait to see each other again to recount all that had happened while they had been apart. Ronny loved watching Dane grow up with wonder and awe at what a unique and outstanding child he had been blessed with. He tried, several times, to turn off Dane's imaginary "growth switch", wanting him to stay little forever. He was also very proud of the support and encouragement he gave Denise while finishing her college degree ("Don't you have a test to study for?"), and how successful she was in her career. As a family, they enjoyed boating in their classic mahogany 1963 Chris-Craft "Sweet Rumble" at the Portage Lakes, Seneca Lake, Buckeye Lake, Lake Chautauqua in New York, and Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee (where they spent houseboat vacations with extended family), and also trips to various beaches, Niagara Falls, Cedar Point, and playing miniature golf. Ronny was taken away from them way too soon, and no words can ever convey how deeply mourned and missed he will be by his wife, Denise Yaworsky (Narris), and son, Dane Yaworsky, along with his cats, Hector, Bianca, and Spock, and his new Great Dane puppy, "Ronny's Sweet Little Baby Ruffian". Also, his many in-laws he was very close to, especially his Father-in-law, Clyde Narris; Mother-in-law, Deborah Hill; Father-in-law, William Hill; and Aunt-in-law, Darlene (Randy) Burt. He will also be missed by Brother-in-law Donald (Missy) Narris; Niece, Elizabeth Narris; Sister-in-law, Diana (Chris) Spencer; Nephews, Zach and Will Spencer; along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Ronny was predeceased by his mother and father, Gretchen and Ronald Yaworsky; and grandparents Agnes and John Yaworsky. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4-7:30 pm at the Anthony & Son Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. (intersection of Rt. 241 & Steese Rd's., at the traffic circle), where a short Rememberance Service will take place at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Paul Rosing on Wednesday, at 11:00 am, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. in Green. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made for Dane's college education at any FirstMerit Bank to the "Yaworsky Family Benevolent Fund".
