Obituary of Bernard 'Bud' Cargould
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Bernard 'Bud' Cargould, 90, passed away April 24, at Heatherknoll in Tallmadge. Born in Boston Twp. on November 24, 1918 to the late Frank and Daisy Cargould, Bud had been a northern Summit County resident for most of his life. He was a retired road maintenance worker for the Summit County Engineer. Bud was a member of the Steels Corners Christian Church, where he played baseball for many years. Bud served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army's 34th Tank Battalion in the European Theatre. In addition to being an avid baseball and Cleveland Indians fan, Bud also enjoyed playing cards, buying and selling bicycles, and raising rabbits. In addition to his parents; Bud was preceded in death by his wives, Katherine in 1976 and Ursula in 2009; sons, Keith in 1944 and Kenneth in 2008; sisters, Blanche and Lulu; brothers, Milan and Donald. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Ellie Cargould of Stow and daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Don Wolff and Janet and Marty Winland, all of Cuyahoga Falls; special nephew, Don Cargould. Bud is also survived by nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, as well as stepchildren, Leslie Moritz, Danny Palmieri, Mildred Crum, Marie Bamonte, and Linda Palmieri; 13 step-grandchildren, 25 stepgreat-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. There will be no calling hours. A graveside committal service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Cuyahoga Falls. The Rev. Susan Lausch officiating.
