Obituary of Catherine J. Vercuski

Catherine J. Vercuski, 88, passed away on January 25, at Akron General Medical Center. Born in Hallsboro, NC on August 15, 1923 to the late Henry & Bette (Needham) Young, Catherine married Joseph Vercuski and moved to Akron in 1945. She worked as a real estate agent for Slusser Realty. Catherine was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was an avid bridge player and baseball fan. In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, as well as 5 sisters & 1 brother. She is survived by her children Priscilla (Roger) Patterson & Daniel (Jenny Pudlik) Vercuski; grandchildren Michelle Griggy & Brian (Cari) Patterson; great-grandchildren Lauren Griggy & Alyssa & Zachary Patterson; 1 brother & 2 sisters, as well as numerous nieces & nephews & great-nieces & nephews A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where the family will also receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
