Obituary of Ann M. Hill

Ann M. Hill (Kwasny), 74, passed away quietly at home in the loving arms of her husband of 51 years on November 24, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ann, 1 of 13 children, was raised in Coal Center, Pennsylvania. Following her high school graduation in 1952, she moved to Akron where she lived and devoted her life to her family. She was very involved in her parish, Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church, and taught religious education for over 30 years. She loved gardening, cooking, canning, sewing and traveling which included visits to England, Aruba, Hawaii, Mexico, the annual family vacation to the outer banks of North Carolina, many trips to the family cottage in Hearts Content, PA along with many trips throughout the U.S. She was often seen, regardless of the weather, at her grandchildren's sporting events and activities cheering them on. She is preceded in death by her son, Benny; parents John & Caroline Kwasny, brothers, Andy, Leo, John & Walter; sister, Helen Kopko. Ann will be deeply missed by her loving family; husband, Benny; son Craig; daughter Karen (Neil) Harlock; grandsons Ben & Steve Hill; granddaughters Rachel & Melissa Harlock; brothers Ed, Carl, Joe & Stanley; sisters Pauline, Arnold & Henrietta DiStefano, many brothers/sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday 5-7 p.m. AT NATIVITY OF THE LORD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2425 Myersville Rd. Akron 44312, and Saturday 9-10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment East Liberty Cemetery.
