Obituary of George P. Yenchik
George P. Yenchik, 86, passed away peacefully at home Thursday August 21, 2008. He was born in Dayton May 4, 1922. George retired from B.F. Goodrich Tire & Rubber Co. with over 43 years service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. George was a proud and faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 3410. Known to many friends as "Captain George" he was proud of his PERFECT 300 game in bowling and showed off his ring to everybody. His generosity and caring spirit for others led him to donate 19 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. George is together again with his loving wife of 51 years Helen. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Marie and Clinton, Linda and Dale, Jane and Matt; sister and brother-in-law Rose and Tony Mazanek; sister Elizabeth Marcius; brother Johnny; his pride and joy grandkids Marina, Mark, Mike, Abby and DJ. Hang Loose…We Love You! The family will receive friends Monday 4-7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. where Knights of Columbus Council 3410 will recite the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
