Obituary of Dmitri 'Jim' Kotrotsou

Jim Dmitri (Jim) Kotrotsou, loving husband, father, and grandfather, 76, passed away on June 20, at Akron City Hospital. Born in Amegdalia, Greece in 1931, Jim brought his family here in 1970 in order to give them a better life. He worked as a mold builder for Akron Equipment. He was also a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Jim was an infantryman in the Greek Army. Jim was preceded in death by his parents George and Asimina. He is survived by his wife Elaine of Kenmore; son George Kotrotsou of Kenmore and daughter Sylvia (Mark) Douvikas of Green; grandsons James and Nicholas Douvikas of Green; sister-in-law Mary Kallas; nephew Jim (Jan) Kallas & family, Sylvia (Ted) Paragios & family, Cindy (Steve) Toth & family, and many other extended nieces & nephews. The family would also like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Akron City Hospital for the compassionate care that was given to Jim during his time there. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8 pm at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St., where a Trisagios will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where Jim will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
