Obituary of Mary Jane Hutchison

Mary Jane Hutchison Mary Jane Hutchison, 86, passed away July 27, 2008 at her home. She was born December 5, 1921 in Akron. She was a consultant for McDonalds and attended The Chapel in Green. Mary Jane was a graduate of Kenmore High School and in 1941 married her childhood sweetheart, Bill Hutchison. During World War II Mary Jane was employed with Goodyear Aerospace Manufacturing Division as a 'Rosie the Riveter.' After the war she and Bill served as house parents for Summit County Children's Home. Through the years, Mary Jane was employed at several golf courses: Rosemont Country Club, Turkeyfoot Golf Course, Lion's Den and the Firestone Country Club. In later years Mary Jane and Bill owned a catering business in the Akron area. In 1979, Mary Jane and Bill became McDonald's owner-operators and opened the first McDonald's Restaurant in east Kentucky. She remained very active in the McDonald's of East Kentucky Organization as a consultant and Public Relations Director in her later years. Mary Jane's many special friends enhanced her life. She was close to Becky Adams, Karen Jones, Brenda Hutchison, Linda Garden and the Divas, Sugie Riley, Lora Suttles, Audrey Kotaska, Scot Vaughn, Seth Blanton, Ron and Pat Bosley, Jerry Preston, Karl and Mary Boss, Jeanene Payk, Bernadette Bebdeau, Hank and Betty Gessman, Roger Sims, Judy Gaylord, Martin Darr, Carol Eggeman, Terry Bain and others too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hutchison; parents, Frederick and Dorothea Darr; and brothers, Dick, Jim and John Darr. She is survived by her sons, Bill, Herb, Ed (Pam), Bob and Tom Hutchison; grandchildren, Heather, Byron, Eric, Tamara and William Hutchison; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Bailey and Conner Hutchison and Caleb Milhoan. Friends may call at the Anthony and Biscan Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (Corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, please note: Steese Road is closed from Greensburg to Shriver -- access to funeral home from Massillon Road only) on TODAY, July 29 from 4 to 8 p.m., where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment at Greensburg Cemetery.
