Obituary of Frank X. Yurick
Frank X. Yurick, 84, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
He was born in Akron and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Kenmore American Legion and Firestone VFW. Mr. Yurick was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving during World War II where he was in five battles including the Battle of the Bulge.
He was preceded in death by parents, Mike and Mary Yurick; sisters, Mary Lurner and Katherine Yurick; and brothers, John and Michael Yurick. He is survived by wife of 50 years, Catherine; son, Michael (Kathleen) Yurick; step-sons, Gregory and Terry McCrossin; sister, Frances Yurick; grandchildren, Mary (Eric) Sharp and Dawn (James) Verhovec; step-grandchildren, Denise (Rolf) Lamb and Caroline McCrossin; 6 great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. (PLEASE NOTE NEW LOCATION) and 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Fr. Michael B. Smith officiating. Interment and Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery where military rites will also be held. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
