Obituary of Eleanor Marie Schreiber

Eleanor M. Schreiber, 92, passed away peacefully in her home, on August 10, 2012. Eleanor was born in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from East High School. She worked at Akron General Tire Company in the 1940's in the pontoon room to help the war effort. After her marriage to Walt Schreiber in 1949, she was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, working in the yard and taking family photos. Pink roses were her favorite flower. She loved to cook from scratch and each meal was made with love. Many of her dishes were requested for parties, especially her potato salad, stuffed cabbages, spaghetti sauce, and pork chops. Her homemade apple pies were out of this world. She loved to get out on the dance floor with her husband, Walter, and dance all night. Eleanor was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #555, the German American Club, the Croatian Club, and St. Sebastian Church. Married for 57 years, Eleanor now joins her late husband, Walter. She will live in the hearts of her son, Joe (Coleen) Schreiber; and daughter, Patty (Jim) Eaglewolf, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws Ruby and Marge Pishney. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ed (Mildred) and Vick Pishney; sister, Elsie (Perc) Ziegler, of Akron; and brother, John Pishney of Arizona. A special "Thank You" to Dr. Troy Bishop and his staff who took care of our parents. His special care for his patients and their families will always be remembered and appreciated. We also appreciate and thank our mom's many caregivers who came to her home, especially Patty Maney who is a long-time family friend, and Marjorie Brown. We would also like to thank Deanna from Summa Hospice and all of the other Hospice caregivers for their support that was helpful beyond words. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, August 15, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 South Main Street, Akron, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:30 a.m. at the Kucko-Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. and will be followed at 11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa, P. O. Box 2090, Akron, OH 44398. (Anthony, Akron, 330.724.1281)
