Obituary of Anna Samulak
Anna M. Samulak, 86, passed away quietly Thursday, March 27, 2008 surrounded by her family.
She was born March 7, 1922 in Perryopolis, Pa. to Paul and Anna (Tomko) Tomcala and had been an Akron resident for most of her life. She was employed by Shinner Meats and had been a 'Rosie the Riveter' during the war. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and Jednota Branch 553.
Mrs. Samulak was preceded in death by her husband Leonard in 2003; brother Joseph Tomcala and sister Helen Mesko; and is survived by her children Leonard (Margaret) Samulak Jr. of Jackson Twsp., Rosemary Abney of Akron, and Marcia (Kenneth) Fletcher of Hartville; sister Betty Cirjack of Akron; grandchildren Lauren Fletcher, Jason (Melissa) Samulak, Shelby (Addam) Drenner, Sunni Abney, Natalie Fletcher, Tammy (Dan) Wassmer, Dennis Geiger and Joy (Brad) Zaryky; great grandchildren Jacob and Sarah Samulak, Jack and Madeline Drenner, Holly Kidder, Nathan and Tyler Zaryky and Nikolas and Christofer Wassmer.
The family is grateful for the care Anna received from the staff at St. Edward and is especially grateful Mary Holyfield-Brown for her dedication.
Funeral Services will be held Monday 11:00am at the Village of St. Edward Chapel. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 2 to 4pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. (Please note NEW address) and Monday 10 to 11am at St. Edward.
