Obituary of Joseph Robert Munka

Joseph R.Munka, 76, died August 3, 2012. Born in Akron, Joe lived in the area his whole life. Joe graduated from St. Vincent High School and spent his working years with IBM. He loved golfing, fishing, playing Euchre with the grandkids, growing hundreds of dahlias and fattening the Koi in his pond. Whether it was a dead battery or a live bat, Joe was the emergency responder for his entire family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen; parents, Michael and Katherine Munka; and brothers, Chuck, Bill and John; He is survived by wife, Pat; children, Beth Munka Vass (Nick), Theresa Munka, Elizabeth Conley, Michael Conley, Missy Conley Berry (Drew); grandchildren, Nicholas, Kathleen, Stephen, Stachia, Tristan, Danielle, Cheryl, Chris, and Chasity; sisters, Kate and Mary Jane (Dan); and brother, Fred (Doris). The family will receive friends TUESDAY, August 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron. Interment will be private.
