Obituary of Beverly Summers

Beverly Summers, age 72, died April 5, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. Beverly was a loving mother to four sons; Scott (Debbie), Steve (Suzanne), Kent, and Greg; and a doting grandmother of four; Michael, Katie, Nicholas, and Kyle. She was preceded in death by her parents (Edward and Esther Durr), her two brothers (Edward and Donald), and her devoted husband of forty years (Sanford). Beverly received a BS in Nursing from Western Reserve University and spent many years working as an RN in the psychiatric unit at Ridgecliff / Laurelwood Hospital and as a nursing instructor at Lakeland Community College. Upon retirement, "Grandma Summers" (as she came to be known by hundreds of children) began volunteering as a first grade reading tutor[In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the "Beverly Grandma Summers" memorial fund at any First Merit Bank. All donations will go to buying books for the Green Elementary School library in her memory. You may also te c ildren's boo at the memorial service or at any of the Green Local School offices. Thanks to the 100+ kids who have already donated a book.
