Obituary of Agnes T. Salsky

Agnes T. Salsky, 86, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 in Houston, TX. She was born in Akron Ohio and was a lifelong resident of the area. Due to illness, she moved to Houston, Tx. in 2006 to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She had been employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she very actively participated in fund raising drives. She volunteered and helped with BINGO for many years at both St Peter's Catholic Church and Immaculate Conception Church in Kenmore. She thrived on helping to raise money for Catholic Churches in the Akron area. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1984 and her son, Charles in 2007; and grandson Victor Dugan 1997; sisters, Helen Remis, Mary Vavro, Ann Ausetts, Francis Olechnowicz, Josephine Rutan, Helen Reeda Remis and brothers Steve and Frank Remis. She is survived by her children Dolly (Chick) Kratzer of Houston Tx., Bob (Susan) Salsky of Friendswood Tx. and John of Atwater Ohio; daughter-in law Linda Salsky of Houston,Tx.; Brother Robert(Kitty) Remis of Uniontown, Oh. sister-in laws Julie Remis of Akron Ohio and Helen Remis of Miami Oklahoma. Grandchildren Jason and Krystal Salsky of Portland Oregon, Marc, Charles, John and Lindsay Salsky of Houston,Tx. Jared Dugan, Houston,Tx.; Nancy Johnson of Hoboken New Jersey and great granddaughter Kate Salsky of Houston, Tx.; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her friend Julia Gonzalez. Special thanks to all her friends and caregivers at Hearthstone at Braeswood and A-Med Hospice. Memorial Mass was held at St Anne's Catholic Church, Houston,Tx. on Saturday April 26, 2008. Cremation has taken place. Mass donations can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 734 Grant St. Akron,Ohio 44311.
