Obituary of Joen Ellen Simpson

Joen Ellen Simpson, 73, passed away Thursday April 17, 2008 in Cape Coral, FL. Joen was born in 1934 but told people 1944. She had work for the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elks and Sons of Herman. Joan loved and cherished her family and friends. She adored and spoiled her grandchildren. Joen was always the life of the party. Joen's favorite place was Cape Coral, FL. She loved being a snowbird. Joen was an avid card player. Next time you play 3 card poker or 21, put a fiver down for her. Joen loved to fish. In a family of fishermen she out fished them all. Joen was preceded in death by many brothers, sisters and in-laws Margaret and Julius Wilt, Katherine Rohr, Ruth and Harry Hearns, Libby and Al Thomas-Moore, Helen and Bill DesPrez, Bill and Phyllis Koegle, Rita McCarty, Bernie Koegle, Ed and Betty Koegle. She is survived by husband of 53 years Bill, daughter and son-in-law Kassandra "Candy" and Rick Ulrich; son and daughter-in-law Kelly and Jean Simpson; grandchildren Will Ulrich, Kelley Ann Simpson; brothers, sisters and in-laws Lawrence Rohr, Don McCarty, Jim and Sue Koegle; best friend Donna McCarty; and many nieces and nephews. Joen has asked that everyone reading this "should live their life fully, it's shorter than you think. Hugs and Kisses to you all. Love Joen." Cremation has taken place. We will celebrate Joen's Life on May 18, 2008 at Guy's Party Center, 500 E. Waterloo Rd., from 1-4 p.m. A lunch buffet will be served from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. Joen's glad she doesn't have to clean up after this party!
