Obituary of Ethel Marie Rauckhorst
Ethel Marie (Sax) Rauckhorst, 89, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center.
Ethel was born June 27, 1923 to Ernest and Anna (Alloe) Sax in Barnesboro, Pa. and had been an Akron area resident most of her life. She was employed as a school librarian for Akron Public Schools at Krause and Margaret Park and at Immaculate Conception Grade School. She was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, a former member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Akron, Divine Mercy Parish in Merritt Island, Fl. She was a member and past president of the Immaculate Conception Altar and Rosary Society, Ladies of the Moose. Ethel served in the US Navy during WWII as a dental assistant.
Ethel was preceded in death by her beloved husband William, grandson John Kareski and siblings Mildred McDowell, Clara Botos, Thomas Sax and Raymond Sax. She leaves her children William (Janet) Rauckhorst II, Robert (Barbara) Rauckhorst, Barbara McMasters, Thomas (Judy) Rauckhorst and James (Diane) Rauckhorst; sister Nancy (Norm-dec.) Simmons; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated MONDAY 10:00 am (please note correction) at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown, Ohio 44685. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends SUNDAY 2 to 5 pm (please note correction) at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green; entrance off Steese).
