Obituary of William John Cenker
William John Cenker, 54, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at his home.
He was born in Akron, was an Eagle Scout, a CPA and a member of Bethel
Lutheran Church. Dr. Cenker was a Professor at John Carroll University. He
received his Doctorate Degree in Accounting from Kent State University in
1989. He was also a member of the Ohio Society of CPA's, American Accounting
Association and American Institute of CPA's. He was widely published with
numerous publications in Accounting and Finance and was well known and
greatly respected in his field. He was also a practicing accountant and an
active consultant.
Dr. Cenker was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Josephine
(Paratore); and is survived by his wife of 22 years, Barbara (Riggans);
children, Joseph William, John William, Jennifer Jean and Jessica Marie
Cenker; brother, Michael (Sheila) Cenker; niece, Mandy (Scott) Miller;
nephew, Michael Ward Cenker; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorothy
and Malvin Riggans, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church,
3852 Everett Rd. in Bath. Rev. Richard Gordon officiating. Interment at St.
Michael Cemetery in Mogadore. The family will receive friends Monday, 6 to 9
p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main
St. in Akron and Tuesday, 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Donations may be made
in his name to the John Carroll University Scholarship Fund or to Bethel
