Obituary of Marjorie Lea McNary

Stow Dateline Marjorie Lea McNary, age 84, passed away February 28, 2008. She was born in Wyandot, Ohio and lived in the Stow area most of her life. She was the wife, of 54 years to Dr. Richard O. McNary DDS, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and was the office manager of the dental practice. She served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during WWII stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Center, Chicago, IL and retired as a Lieutenant Commander. She was a graduate of Ohio State Dental School as a dental hygenist and the Grant Hospital Nursing School Magna cum Laude as a registered nurse.. She was active in the Akron Dental Association, was past president of the Ohio State Women's Alumni Association and was a member of American Legion post #496. She attended Stow Alliance Fellowship Church, was past president of the Wyoga Lake Women's Club and coached Stow girls softball where she led her team to a State Championship. She is survived by her son Rick, daughters Teri (David) Byrley and Sheri McNary and son Stephen, sisters Donna Shuman and Hattie Wallace, grandchildren Robert Moser, Ashleigh Byrley, Shannon and Jena Strzalkowski, Lauren and Samantha McNary, great grandchildren Robbie Moser Jr. and Brianna Byrley. Calling hours will be Sunday 2-4 p.m. at the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home at Third St. one block North of Portage Trail where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment at Chestnut Hill Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
