Obituary of Mary Kandes

Mary 'Mac' Kandes, 85, went home to be with the Lord on February 28 at The Village of St. Edward in Fairlawn. Born in Jerome, PA in 1922, Mary had been an Akron resident since 1946. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and The St. Paul Ladies Guild. Mary was a woman of great faith and enormous generosity who deeply cared for and loved her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1986, brother John Brottish, and sister-in-law Millie Huslak. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Donna of Clinton and John and Dianne of Akron; daughters and son-in-law Donna Faber of Stow, Lynn Dumitru of Fort Mill, SC, Denise and John Wunderle of Norton, and Stephanie Kandes of Akron; brother Nick (Marge) Huslak of Blacksburg, VA; sisters Kay Sabo of Richeyville, PA and Judy Siviy of San Diego, CA; 9 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends TODAY from 5-8 pm and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am at The Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel 1990 S. Main St. (PLEASE NOTE NEW ADDRESS). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church on Brown St. in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
