Obituary of Irene Fort

Irene H. Fort, 82, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at her home. She was born September 16, 1925 to John and Margaret (Nagy) Horvath in Akron and had been an Akron resident her entire life. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church where she served on the Parish Council and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a member of Firestone Park Prime Timers. She was a secretary at various places including the University of Akron. Her life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren and her interests included baking, cooking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph in 2006 and her sister Margaret Farinacci; and is survived by her children Joanne Fort of Palm Harbor, Fla.; Richard (Carol) Fort of Medina, and Charles (Linda) Fort of Massillon; grandchildren Michelle (Scott) Crim, C.J. McAbee, and Rachel, Bradley, Brieanna and Brittney Fort; son-in-law Charles McAbee, Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 South Main St. (PLEASE NOTE NEW ADDRESS). Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Fr. Robert E. Clancy officiating.
