Obituary of Marilynne B. Dykstra
Marilynne B. Dykstra, 71, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, at Akron City Hospital.
Born in White Plains, NY in 1936 to the late Roswell and Elizabeth Black, Marilynne had been an area resident since 1971. She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Marilynne had previously worked as the church secretary at the Bailey Road Christian Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Marilynne enjoyed knitting, reading, and loved arts and crafts. She was also an animal lover and had many pets, which she enjoyed very much.
Along with her parents and brother, Marilynne was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1997 and her son Daniel in 1990. She is survived by her daughters Anna Blasdel, Diana Dykstra, and Melissa (David) Trace, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends TODAY from 6-8 pm at The Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. (PLEASE NOTE NEW LOCATION), where a Parastas will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 1:00 pm at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Ave. in Mogadore, where Marilynne will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to either St. Nicholas Church 755 S. Cleveland Ave. Mogadore, OH 44260, the Humane Society 4904 Quick Rd.
