Obituary of Rita E. Pittinger

Rita E. Pittinger NEE Knapp, age 86, passed away February 2, 2008 and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was born Feb. 24, 1921 in St. Joseph, Ohio and lived in Akron since 1925. She graduated from Akron Central High School, retired from Freight Incorporated in 1948 after 8 years of service, and had been a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Knapp, beloved husband of 47 years Alvin, brothers Paul, Carl, and Albert, sisters Loretta and Alyce Luecke, and grandson-in-law Rob Yankovich. She is survived by sons; Thomas (Nena), Ronald (Pamela), and Larry (Sherry), daughter Denise (Tim) Williams, sister Sr. Mary Teresita Knapp, sisters in law Gertrude Pittinger, Sr. Regina Marie Pittinger, and Lorraine Knapp; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Welch, Jaime (Ed) Herrick, Brett (Sarah), Mindy, Joseph, James and John Pittinger, and great grandchildren Carson, Austin, Carter, and Sam. "A special thanks to Jennings' Garden Level Staff, Dr. Lopez and Hospice of the Western Reserve." Calling hours will be Monday 4-7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel 1990 S. Main St. (Please note new address). Mass of the Christian Burial will be Tuesday 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church 1580 Brown St.. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
