Obituary of Michael John Kusnir

Michael "Mike" Kusnir, 61, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer. Mike was born Nov. 26, 1946 in Akron to Michael and Catherine Kusnir. He was raised in Munroe Falls and graduated from Stow High School in 1964. Mike was a Marine Corporal during the Vietnam War who cooked for the young officers at Quantico, VA. Mike was a member of the North Hill Community Baptist Church. He worked for the YMCA and his church as a handyman. Mike is survived by his sisters Patty Savage, Barbara (Jerry) Halliwell, Rita (Ed) Bender, Marilyn (Terry) Greer; brother John Kusnir and family. He was preceded in death by sister Josephine Cable Mike was affectionately known as Crazy Mike among his many friends. Mike would give you the shirt off his back, but not his "Yankees" cap. Gone to join Jesus The family will receive friends Monday 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the North Hill Community Baptist Church, 983 Avon St., Akron, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Pastor John Hosea officiating.
