Obituary of Mayme Kathleen Blair aka Allen
Mayme Kathleen Blair passed away Friday Jan. 11, 2008. She was born October 24, 1922 in Wallace WV, residing in the Barberton/Akron area since 1952. Mayme was their previous owner of the High Hat Restaurant, Barberton until 1969 Preceded in death by husband Robert LaFollette Blair, she is survived by son Robert Lewis Blair and daughter-in-law Carole Blair, nephew Roger Allen (Linda) of Steubenville, OH and, Richard Allen (Kay) of Weirton, WV; sister-in-law Elsie Aimar (Al) of Las Vegas, NV Thanks to the loving and caring staff at The Merriman Retirement Village in Akron, Mayme has spent the last two years living the high life. She loved everyone there as if they were her family. Thanks to DSI Dialysis Unit at Akron City Hospital for their kindness and love given to Mayme during her years of dialysis treatments. The staff are truly angels on earth. She overcame many health issues during the last several years, and always had a smile and friendly word for everyone. Mayme has developed innumerable friends through the years and enjoyed being the life of the party. Family and friends will miss her dearly. Mayme was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club of South Akron for many years. The family will receive friends Monday 5-8 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. (PLEASE NOTE NEW ADDRESS). Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
