Obituary of Wilhelmina Bauer

The gates of heaven welcomed Wilhelmina (Mina) Bauer on Monday July 23, 2012. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. She is survived by her loving husband; Adolf (Gicu) Bauer of 64 years. Tante Mina did not have any children of her own but was a mother figure and a blessing to many; especially great nephew Phillip Pekar. Mina was born in Romania then came to the United States in 1955 and became a proud US Citizen in 1975. Mina was preceded in death by her parents Theodor and Eugenia Lerch, one sister and six brothers. She is survived by one sister Hilda (Adolf) Brucker; sisters-in-law Henrietta (Ludwig) Baumgartner , Rita (Chuck) Harden , and Louise (John) Heyden and brother-in-law Toni (Erika) Marino. As well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. May the perpetual light shine upon our Tante Mina as she enters the Kingdom of heaven. Calling hours will be at Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 South Main Street, Akron, on Wednesday, from 4-7 pm, where a rosary will be prayed immediately following. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd, Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Anyone who knew Mina knew how much she loved her faith and the power of prayer. Donations can be made to Mother Angelica, EWTN and for masses in her name.
