Obituary of Elizabeth Katherine Merda

Elizabeth Katherine Merda, 93, formerly of Akron, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 in Livonia, Michigan. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Mathias for 48 years. Their love for each other was deep, continuing and everlasting and now their spirits can live on together forever. She was the dear mother of Joseph (Francis) and Magdalene (John) Nemec; grandmother of Tom, Caroline, Paul, Beth Ann, Micheal, Amy and Julie; and great-grandmother of ten. Her love for cooking was a main ingredient of her life. Streudels and Paprikash will always be remembered and looked forward to when visiting. In her later years crocheting became her passion. Afghans were crocheted for all her children and grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
