Obituary of Douglas W. Fast
Douglas Warren Fast, 56, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2007.
Born in Akron in 1951, Doug had been a lifetime area resident. 'Bubba', as he was known to his family and friends, was a kind and loving husband and father who loved to spend time with his family and friends. Doug enjoyed sitting down every week to eat dinner with his family. Doug was a great entertainer and always looked forward to his annual neighborhood barbecue. Douglas served as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War. Doug had a strong faith in God which carried him throughout his life. Douglas was a giver. He loved to give gifts and help out people in any way that he could.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Bertha Fast. he is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Debra of Akron; son Nathan Fast of Akron; daughters and sons-in-law Nicole and Keith Hamilton of Akron and Natalie and Todd Ellis of Akron; brothers and sisters-in-law Ed and Joyce and Clyde and Karen Fast of Akron; sister Connie Fast of Akron; Doug also leaves behind his dear grandchildren Jacob and Kara Hamilton, who turned him into a 'new man' in the last years of his life.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 pm at The Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel 1990 S. Main St. (PLEASE NOTE NEW ADDRESS). Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
