Obituary of John J. Falatok

John J. Falatok "Jonko" passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2007 after a brief illness. His love of people, life, and dedication to hard work could be seen by everyone who knew him. His faith, kindness, and generous ways touched so many lives. He was a man that played hard, worked harder, and never complained. John was born in Akron on December 31, 1930. He retired from the sales accounting division of Firestone after 32 years. He was the manager of The Akron Jednota Club for 24 years. He then opened Jonko's in 1993 where he went to work daily up until his illness. He was a veteran of the Korean War and belonged to a number of clubs in the Akron area. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he served as an usher. John is survived by his wife Rosemary of 51 years and five children: John (Becky), Greg ( Donna), David ( Lori), Marianne (Mark), and Mike (Sara). He had 10 grandchildren that he was very proud of: John, Anne, Katie, Joey, David, Matthew, Anna, Mikey, Drew, and Landon. John is also survived by a brother Andrew and numerous nieces and nephews. He was additionally blessed by his extended family that included so many friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 28, 2007 at 9:30am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 South Main Street (PLEASE NOTE NEW ADDRESS) and 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS TODAY 4 to 8pm at the FUNERAL HOME. Private interment to be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, 750 S.
