Obituary of Irene R. Krannich

Irene R. Krannich, 87, passed away November 19, at Traditions on Bath Rd. in Cuyahoga Falls. Born in Cleveland, OH in 1920, Irene had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident since 1950. She worked for and retired from both the Amoco Chemical Co. and the State of Ohio. She was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she participated in many church organizations. Irene was an avid golfer and loved being with animals, especially in the last few years of her life. Irene was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Leah Smith and her husband George in 1988; sisters Annette and Lucille and brothers Robert and James. She is survived by her children Carol Kimball of Cuyahoga Falls, Dennis (Sue) Krannich of New Baltimore, MD, and Maureen (John) Sacksteder of Stow; sister Beverly Sands of Wichita, KS; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, from 5-8 pm at the McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home (at 3rd st., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:45 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church on 2nd St. in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
