Obituary of William J. Rauckhorst

-MERRITT ISLAND, FL William (Bill) J. Rauckhorst 92 died peacefully in his sleep on October 11, 2007. Born to George and Grace Rauckhorst, Bill was born 2nd of 9 children on November 12, 1914. He grew up in Akron, Ohio attending St. Mary's grade school and was the first graduating class from Buchtel High. He served in the Army during World War II. After returning from service he met and married Ethel Marie Sax and was joined in matrimony for 61 years. Bill worked, as a rigger, at Columbia Chemical/Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in Barberton, Ohio, retiring in 1975 and settled in Cape Coral Florida and later in Merritt Island Florida where they reside today. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Grace Rauckhorst, brothers John, George, Joseph, sisters Mary Rita Crosier, and Mary Grace Bellino. He is survived today by his devoted wife Ethel and five children. William (Janet) of Merritt Island, Florida, Robert (Barbara) of Wadsworth, Ohio, Barbara McMasters of Uniontown, Ohio, Thomas (Judy) of Largo, Florida and James (Diane) of Wadsworth, Ohio. 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. He also leaves a brother Donald of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, sisters Ann (Ray) Crocket of The Dalles, Oregon and Tess Wease of Melbourne, Florida. Calling Hours will be Thursday, October 18 from 6 to 8 pm at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 19 at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2100 16th Street, SW, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the "Hospice of Health First, Inc", 1900 Dairy Road, Melbourne, Florida 32904. The family would also like to give special thanks to Brenda, Cookie, Lisa, Harriet and Wayne from Hospice of Health First, Inc for the great love and cared they gave our father.
